From 1995 to 1998 and from 1999 to 2002, I was engaged in the production and management of off-shore fishery at the representative office of China National Fisheries Corporation in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Currently, I am mainly involved in teaching and research in the fields of fishing gear and fishing methods, fish behavior, aquaculture cages, and marine ranching. My main social positions include being a member of the Subcommittee on Fishing Gear and Fishing Gear Materials of the National Technical Committee for Aquatic Products Standardization, a member of the Second Expert Committee on Fishing Gear of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the deputy director of the Fishing Branch of the Chinese Society of Fisheries, and the deputy director of the Shandong Province Fishing Gear Standardization Committee. I have led or participated in over 30 projects, including National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Key Research and Development Program, National 863 Program, Public Welfare Industry Special Projects, and Shandong Province Major Science and Technology Special Projects. I have published over 140 scientific papers in domestic and international academic journals, obtained over 40 patents, co-authored 3 monographs, and led the formulation of 2 group standards and participated in the formulation of 4 national and industry standards. I have won 6 provincial and ministerial-level science and technology awards.
