1. Mission 

The International Aquatic Animal Welfare Working Group aims to establish an international platform for knowledge and information exchange on aquatic animal welfare research and practices. By collaborating with relevant research institutions and industries worldwide, the group seeks to conduct scientific research and discussions on key issues and challenges in the development of global aquatic animal welfare, promoting the advancement and innovation of aquatic animal welfare science and practice.

2. Goals

（1）Establishing an international multi-stakeholder exchange platform for knowledge exchange and promotion of aquatic animal welfare.

（2）Advancing international scientific collaboration on aquatic animal welfare topics, enhancing aquatic animal welfare education in Chinese universities, and supporting more young scholars’ research on aquatic animal welfare.

（3）Supporting the Chinese aquaculture industry in enhancing aquatic animal welfare awareness and practices, offering relevant training programs, technical support, and consulting services.

（4）Empowering relevant local organisations in China to improve their aquatic animal welfare promotion work, enhancing public and consumer awareness of aquatic animal welfare.
