Dr. Zonghang Zhang

Assistant Professor, Shantou University.


He obtained his Ph.D. in Aquaculture from the Ocean University of China. Currently, he serves as a member of the Aquatic Animal Ethology Professional Committee of the China Society of Fisheries and as a Guest Editor for multiple journals. His research primarily focuses on fish behavioural ecology and fisheries science, with a particular emphasis on systematically investigating the effects of environmental enrichment on fish behaviours and welfare and its underlying mechanisms using techniques such as experimental ecology and statistical analysis. He has published multiple research papers in reputable journals, including Fish and Fisheries, Reviews in Fish Biology and Fisheries, and Reviews in Aquaculture, and has led multiple research projects in related fields. His current research interests include: (1) Analyzing the impact of habitat heterogeneity on fish diversity at global and local scales; (2) Adaptive responses, molecular mechanisms, and ecological consequences of fish behavioural phenotypes (particularly personality) to habitat heterogeneity; and (3) Application of environmental enrichment technologies in fisheries and aquaculture.
